Houtex Machine
Welcome to
Houtex Machine
Houtex Machine is a family-owned and operated machine shop founded out of a genuine passion for machining.
This family dream came to fruition in August 2014 and has gradually evolved into the outstanding business it is today.
Hello, I am William Gonzales, Co-Owner and Operator of Houtex Machine.
My Story
When I was 18, I had the opportunity to start sweeping floors and assisting at a plate processing company that also fabricated and machined weldments. I worked my way up from a beveler position to a flame cutter role, eventually transitioning to the machine shop, where I found my true passion. I learned how to operate CNC controls and set up machines, and then I began programming.

Driven to expand my knowledge of machining, I left that company in 2011 to work as a technician/trainee for a machine manufacturer called Femco. While I gained valuable experience, I soon realized it wasn't the right fit for me. I returned to my previous employer, this time as a supervisor/programmer.

As time went on, I felt a strong desire to pursue my own venture. I believed I had the essential tools to open my own machine shop, though I lacked the funds. So, my dad and I decided to partner up and acquired an old Mori Seiki mill and lathe. With some work, those machines turned out to be fantastic assets—one of which I still have, and it continues to perform beautifully.

Since then, we've grown steadily. Owning a machine shop comes with its challenges, but I still love what I do. We're now profitable and focused on expanding our operations. The driving force behind my desire to own a shop was the pursuit of financial freedom and the goal of reaching the highest level of knowledge and expertise in my field.
